SLM Solutions Group AG is presenting a large number of new solutions at this year’s formnext, the world’s leading trade fair for additive manufacturing. At booth E70 in hall 3.0, SLM Solutions will also present the SLM 800 for the first time in addition to further improvements in the tried and tested machines SLM 125 and SLM 280. In addition, the company’s own software will be presented with an extended performance scope for additive manufacturing and MPM/LPM for multi-laser operation.
Interest in formnext is growing rapidly. Everything times two: the exhibitor numbers have doubled from 200 to 400 compared to the first formnext in 2015. The exhibitor area has also grown; two levels in hall 3 will be occupied in November, and the exhibition space has been expanded from 14,000 square meters in 2015 to approximately 27,000 square meters in 2017. The accompanying conference has also become bigger. Speakers from 17 countries will hold their talks on two stages.
SLM Solutions Group AG, a leading supplier of metal-based additive manufacturing technology from Lübeck, will have the largest booth in its company history at formnext from November 14 to 17, 2017. The new booth concept, which is based on the SLM layer process, will provide a wealth of new solutions for additive manufacturing on 322 sq. m. The SLM 800 will be presented to the public for the first time. The SLM 800 was shown as a concept in an animated video last year, but it will be presented live at formnext 2017. The new machine concept enables integration into automated and fully automated production processes. Another highlight will be the Additive Designer, the company’s own data processing software, which represents an alternative to established programs on the market with its enhanced performance scope for metal-based additive manufacturing.
In addition, the SLM 125 as well as the new SLM 280 2.0 will be exhibited. The fourth generation of the SLM 280 2.0, which is one of the most powerful machines in its class with up to 2 x 700 W, has again been improved in many respects. Among other things, these include new, permanent filter technology, melt pool monitoring (MPM) and laser power monitoring (LPM) (now also for multi-laser operations), improved machine control software and an optional powder feeder using vacuum technology.
“At formnext, SLM Solutions will again underline its reputation as a pioneer of additive manufacturing and introduce new developments with many solutions both with respect to detail as well as to a greater scope,” Stefan Ritt explained, Head of Global Marketing and Communications at SLM Solutions Group AG. “We are pleased with the increasing interest in formnext and want to contribute to supporting the next generation of intelligent industrial production with our additive technology.”
