SLM Solutions Group AG (“SLM Solutions”), a leading supplier of metal-based additive manufacturing technology, presented the new SLM 800 machine model at this year’s formnext trade fair and received a major order for 20 machines of this type already on the first day of the fair. The machines will be supplied to a customer from the energy sector based in Asia.
Since its IPO in 2014, SLM Solutions has pursued the objective of gaining a firm foothold in Asia. The company is already represented in the region through its subsidiaries in Singapore, China and India and will open further branches in the course of next year. „We are very happy that we were able to celebrate this success with the new SLM 800, the largest machine type in our portfolio, already on the first day of formnext. This is another important step for the growth of our company, as it demonstrates on the one hand that we are becoming more and more firmly established in the Asian market and on the other hand that the introduction of the SLM 800 is very well received by industrial customers“, explains Uwe Bögershausen, board member of SLM Solutions Group AG. The machines will be delivered between 2017 and 2019. In addition to the machines of the types SLM 800 and SLM 280, systems of the type SLM 500 may also be ordered, which could further increase the order volume.
